Digital Marketing & E-Commerce

Around nine months ago I began studying Digital Marketing and E-Commerce through Coursera, which offers professional certificates recognised by employers. Although I've taken breaks during periods of heavy workload, I'm on track to complete the course this summer.

Website Development

Website builders are convenient, but they come with real limitations. They restrict layouts, limit functionality, and have a direct impact on my profit margins. This summer, I and going to learn Figma and the basics of HTML/CSS/JavaScript so I can build websites independently, without relying on builders or developers. This will both increase my earning potential and make me significantly more hireable.

I'll begin by building the Petal Post website on WordPress and Squarespace in June, as these are the platforms most commonly requested by employers. As my skills develop, my goal is to transition to fully custom builds.

Once I can offer this confidently, I plan to approach small businesses, providing the kind of service usually only available through agencies, but at a more accessible rate. Crucially, my offer won't just be a website: it will include content creation, brand identity, and a site genuinely built to grow their audience and convert customers.

Below is a working document of local businesses in Bristol and Bath, I've noted as potential contacts created in March, and one will be updated soon. And also Branding companies to contact to see if they're hiring in Bristol!
